Drivers de SIS 771/671 para Jaunty

* Este es un re post de Luis Larrateguy, que me pareció importantísimo difundir, en especial para los usuarios de netbooks.
Drivers de SIS 771/671 para Xorg 1.6 -Mandriva 2009.1, Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04
La versión corta para los impacientes y cansados de probar, aquí está, el driver para la placa de video con chip SIS 771/671 para Xorg 1.6, Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope 9.04. Generalmente las computadoras que traen estas placas son las Olivetti 520 y algunas Bangho.
Aquí están los drivers binarios (sisimedia compilados por Mandriva)
xorg-driver-sisimedia_0.9-1_i386
Agregar o modificar lo siguiente en /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Section "Device" Driver "sisimedia" EndSection
Luego reiniciar el servidor X.

Por suerte mi netbook trae un chipset intel y la gráfica también y no son muy ‘guerrilleras’, son ‘plug&play’ xD
La única pega es que no puedo poner la wireless en modo monitor, por ahora… pero todo se andará.

Thank you for this useful posting. We’re so glad because it is the best solution for our project here, on UGM Goes Open Source (http://ugos.ugm.ac.id). We have some of problems like that especially with SIS and VIA chip-set when applying Ubuntu drivers as well.

Muchisisisisisisimas gracias!!! Tengo una Esprimo MObile V5535 con Ubuntu y me funciono a la primera primerisima. No se absolutamente nada de Linux y me salvaste la vida! Nada mas descargue eso y lo instale nomas haciendo click en next y en next y se puso por como arte de magia! Nada mas reinicie el ordenador! Gracias de nuevo!!! Linux es lo mejor!

Can anyone please tell me that what thing should i do after i downloaded the xorg-driver-sisimedia_0.9-1_i386.
Since last time when I installed this driver & restarted, my system became unstable & I had to format it.
So please tell me how to proceed so that if anything wrong happens then I am not supposed to just format it again to have my system back.

Hola, vengo luchando hace mucho tiempo con este problema tengo una Banghó, intenté cambiarlo y no pasó nada sigue en baja resolución y me cambió el tamaño a 800×400
